I’m sure illusionist David Blaine was contemplating these facts during the first 16 days of his 44-day fast in a glass cage (the very small box, center frame) along the Thames. Blaine endured the ridicule of Londoners who, calling the spectacle "pretentious," proceeded to pelt his isolation case with eggs and rotten fruit. We left London the next day, still wondering whether Blaine or the Londoners were going to win the battle for the soul of public relations and performance art.
