Londoners nicknamed it the "Wobbly Bridge" after pedestrians skilled an alarming swaying movement on its opening day. The bridge was closed later that day and, after two days of restricted entry, it was closed once more for nearly two years in order that modifications and repairs may very well be made to maintain the bridge secure and cease the swaying movement.
