The vessel was constructed in ⁣Russia and officially joined service on‍ December​ 9 with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh present for its commissioning. Following ⁢this event, it set sail from Kaliningrad on December 17.

A statement from India’s Ministry of Defence indicated that INS Tushil’s route would include traversing through significant maritime regions such as Baltic Sea, North Sea, Atlantic⁤ Ocean before finally arriving at Indian⁤ Ocean.
