Believe it or not, the base of this double-deck coach is former London Transport DMS237, JGF237K, a Park Royal bodied Daimler Fleetline CRG6LXB, new in 12/1971. Upon withdrawal, it passed to Ensign, the Purfleet based dealer, who rebuilt the whole bus. It even received a new chassis number. It entered service in 05/1985 and is seen here four years later outside Tate Britain Art Gallery, Millbank. Two other Ensign Enterprise were built, KJN7Y, rebuilt from DMS2148, OJD148R, a Park Royal bodied Leyland Fleetline FE30AGR, new to LT in 11/1976, being rebuilt in 04/1983 and going to JRD Travel, London, SE15 and A741TTW, classed as an Ensign JP1 Mk.II and rebuilt from DMS590, MLK590L, a Park Royal bodied Daimler Fleetline CRL6, new to LT in 04/1973, being rebuilt in 04/1984 and going to The Londoners.
