VINCI Secures Extended Highways Maintenance Agreement with Hertfordshire County Council

Comprehensive Maintenance for Over 5,000 km of Roadways
VINCI has finalized a multi-year renewal of its highways maintenance partnership with the Hertfordshire County Council in the UK. The deal encompasses maintenance efforts for more than 5,000 kilometers of roads and pavements situated to the north of London.
A Lasting Commitment with Scope for Extension
This freshly inked contract spans an initial duration of seven years, commencing on October 1, 2025. It offers provisions for extensions that could potentially extend up to the year 2046.
Financial Overview and Services Included
The annual value of this agreement stands at a minimum of €65 million (£55 million). The scope covers various services that include not just routine maintenance but also significant upgrades. Key responsibilities will involve managing street lighting and signal repairs, maintaining surface water drainage systems, pothole repairs, seasonal gritting activities, grass-cutting services, as well as emergency response initiatives.
Sustainable Innovations Moving Forward
Building on advancements from previous contracts—such as the introduction of robotic solutions to prevent potholes and electric gritters—Ringway is poised to further its commitment towards achieving carbon neutrality by 2030. Plans outline integrating additional electric vehicles into their fleet while prioritizing recycling initiatives and utilizing sustainable materials wherever feasible.
A Robust Presence Across Great Britain
In addition to this contract in Hertfordshire, Ringway oversees several multi-year agreements throughout Great Britain that encompass approximately 50,000 kilometers comprising urban roads along with highway systems and motorways.
